I’m so glad that you found me!
Based in the beautiful state of Washington, just a skip and a jump north of PDX, I proudly serve the enchanting Portland and Seattle areas. But hey, I'm not one to stay put—I'll happily follow the magic wherever it takes us, ready to capture your moments and create some photo enchantment together.
I'm not just a photographer; I'm a storyteller with a knack for those in-between moments—the giggles, the unplanned glances, and the unfiltered emotions. I get it; having your photo taken might not be everyone's cup of tea. That's why I'm here to turn it into a laid-back, fun experience, whether it's family portraits, an elopement, or your big day.
My style? Film inspired, a sprinkle of nostalgia, and a whole lot of unconventional charm. I'm all about the documentary and candid vibes, with a touch of direction to make you feel like a pro by the end of it all. I love trying out-of-the-box techniques for some funky and creative options, making each session as fresh and unique as you are.
What drives my passion? Natural light, genuine emotion, and couples madly in love. I'm all about the photo-journalistic approach, directing with a fun and laid-back vibe that results in genuine moments and lots of laughter.
If you resonate with quirky, free-spirited vibes and love to explore, we might just be a match made in photo heaven. Whether it's a backyard wedding, mountain views, or offbeat venues, I'm here to capture the simple, intimate, and heart-felt moments.
Here’s to capturing the extraordinary in the ordinary, Megan 📸✨
It all started in 2011 when my father-in-law passed down his old Canon DSLR to me after I gave birth to my first child. I had never owned a "nice" camera before, and I was over the moon. Even though it was old, to me, it was the fanciest camera I had ever had. I wanted to capture every moment with my daughter, and that's when my passion for photography truly began.
At the time, I was living in a small town, and I started sharing my work online. Friends from high school began asking me to take photos of them and their families, and before I knew it, my hobby had turned into a business—completely unintentionally. I had always said I wanted to be an artist, and I feel like the universe gave me this path in the most organic way. I’m so grateful for it.
Back then, social media wasn’t as big, and photography knowledge wasn’t as easily accessible as it is now. I was self-taught, doing shoots for practically free until I saved up for a better camera, and that’s when everything changed. I was mainly photographing families in North Carolina, and I became a part of photography groups on Facebook. It was there I was inspired by photographers from the Pacific Northwest. Their work left me dumbfounded, and neither my husband nor I had ever lived anywhere else. That’s when we made the bold decision to uproot our lives and move to Washington state—sight unseen! And I’m so glad we did.
Since 2017, I’ve focused primarily on weddings and couples, with the occasional family session here and there. When I began working as a professional photographer, I quickly realized how profound this job truly is. I’ve had the honor of photographing many families and weddings where loved ones are no longer with us, and every time, it hits me deeply. I’m so grateful to be able to freeze those precious moments in time, allowing people to relive them through photographs.
When I photograph a wedding, I always ask myself, "What would I want to remember if this were my own wedding?" That’s how I approach each shot—with intention, an open heart, and love.
